It was a cold January afternoon and the studio seemed to share the same temperature as the outdoors. It was a curious place, not your typical photographic studio as it was more of a wood crafting workshop or showroom, that happened to have some lighting kit (which we didn’t use as the daylight was why we were here).

All the heaters were turned on and we got the place up to a nearly normal temperature. Elena still had to brave the cold, especially given that some of the shots were nude.

I was lucky to be here. I had met up with Dave Ellis, an Instagram friend for a meal the night before and he suggested I come along to this shoot that he had pre-planned with Elena. Dave was in the UK from Canada and like me enjoys meeting up with fellow creatives.

I really enjoy these chance meetings. Dave and I clicked and it was clear we were going to shoot together in the future. As for Elena, well we also got on, I love how creative she is and as a result we planned a photo trip away later in May. It’s good to meet new people!
