Empire State Building, NYC
Kate and the Empire State building, a perfect combination! These were taken on the roof of my cousins apartment in October 23. It was pure coincidence that Kate and I happened to be in NYC on the same weekend, we managed to meet up and shoot for a couple of hours and made the most out of our chance meeting.
New York Subway
This magnificent subway was recommended to be by Marisa Roper when I was last here in May. I remembered the subway and shared the location idea with Kate, my hope to leverage the contrasty backdrop with a black dress. Kate loved it and being her creative self she quickly dug out her own inspo photo, that of Dovima with Elephants by Ricard Avedon.
The beautiful dress is one of Kate’s trade mark thrift store finds and was a perfect fit for our location. The poses you see are both signature Kate, but also an ode to Dovima. We had our work cut out dodging commuters but they were all very complimentary of Kate.
